Sailing Inconceivable #21: Sailing Into the Sunset, and OMG OATMEAL!!!

This week, a little breakfast, where to put the winch handle holder, and a nice long all day sail to watch a little dinghy race.

What is it about sunsets from the water? I was heading down to clear the bridge and the Sun was golden river of shimmering sparks.

Ugh… I love sailing!

The music in this and pretty much every episode is original — Written and recorded by M. Hans Liebert.

Sailing Inconceivable #20: Freebie Chartplotter Install

In this week’s episode, Hans dives below deck, again, to wire up a freebie GPS unit generously donated to the Sailing Inconceivable cause.

He also makes a batch of mac & cheese, so you really don’t want to miss it!

Oh, almost forgot: He does some dishes, too!!!

It’s all very very exciting.

Sailing Inconceivable #19: Sailing with the ones we love!!!

In this episode, Inconceivable sees a lot of water. Hans takes some of his family, in from out of town, for a ride on the lower bay.

Then, Lynn and Max join Hans for a beautiful run out Rockaway Inlet. Lynn sees dolphins, and again Hans can’t get a shot of them. Finally, a romantic sunset dinner on Inconceivable’s bow.

Sailing Inconceivable #18: Captain Lynn Goes Sailing, Whisker Poles, and an Eclipse

In this episode, a rigging suprise dramatically alters our downwind abilities. Yes, the mysterious whisker pole we found on board when we bought Inconceivable finally gets deployed. And, bonus, works great!!!

Hans and Dan test the pole on a sail out to see the partial eclipse. So cool, and lots of fun.

Then, after a short beach walk, Lynn and Hans take their friend Esther out for a relaxed excursion off Coney Island… Oh, so many Max kisses for Esther.

The music in this episode, and pretty much all of Sailing Inconceivable, was written and recorded by Hans.

Sailing Inconceivable #17: Sailing the Atlantic, Hurricane Planning, and Family Beach Time

This week, Inconceivable head out into the Atlantic for the first time. Hans is (just a little) into it! The rig is tuned and showing it, and the ocean swell is so cool!!!

Next: What do we do incase of a hurricane. We have a plan (ish) – Hans goes over the possibilities.

Finish off with a little family time at Jacob Riis Park – Lynn, Hans, and Max enjoy the water on the sandy side of the Rockaway surf zone.

Once again, the music is all original, written and recorded by Hans.

Sailing Inconceivable #15: Exploring an Abandoned Airport, and Gunkholing Dories and Skiffs

Max and I take a short walk, across the street and through the gate, to one of the most storied places in aviation history. Floyd Bennett Field, New York City’s first commercial airport, is a hidden gem.

Then, back to Sebago Canoe Club for the annual Traditional Small Boat Cruise – Dorries, Sharpies, Skiffs of all kinds – across the bay, and through the marshes, spartina glowing, and creeks flowing.
